i find that my hands are very dry, regardless of the season. with most moisturizers, 15 minutes to a half hour after i apply, they're visibly dry again. does anybody have any recommendations for something that could help? thanks in advance. angela |

Yeah, Aveeno cream, Vanicream cream or Cetaphil cream. Carmol 10 or 20 is also very useful as is AmLactin. Cheap moisturizers are worthless and usually contain ingredients that people may easily react to. You get what you pay for. which of these do you recommend most highly? i'd prefer to start with your favorite and work my way down the list. seriously, my hands are like a farmhands, especially embarrassing because i'm a corporate type and have to do lots of handshaking.

I would have to disagree with cheap creams are not worth anything.......I had eczema on hands and they were very very dry. This is what worked for me I used Peniton Cream ( for baby ) then put Vasoline on top every day..threee times a day and at night put cotton mits over my hands. I did this for months and months and finally It worked! I used to use cortizone thats why I tried other creams. Binki

You can use any kind of hand cream that is specially for very dry hands or try using pure olive oil ..when using the cream try to apply it until you feel that your skin is full of it then wear cotton gloves when you go to sleep ..it really help. I recommend you use the Body Shop African Spa Honey Butter Cream. |

I can relate, I have the same issue, have since I was 21. I finally found a good solution to my problem that works for me. I use Neutrogena Hand Cream Norwegian Formula. It is a super concentrate that goes on nicely and stays on like gang busters. This can be used anytime of day, but I suggest using at night, just before bed so that is will have plenty of time to sink in and work before you shower or get those dish pan hands in the morning. I also use Neutrogena body lotion. I have very sensitive skin and I have excellent luck with all of Neutrogenas products. |

I love Aveeno for a drugstore lotion. If you think your hands are really bad, you may want to try something like Shea Butter or Coc butter.I had a grandmother that would put oil on her hands and feel and go to sleep with gloves and socks. She swore that it made your skin smooth! |

I love Trader Joe's "A Midsummer Night's Cream" Extra Dry formula. It moisturises like nothing else without feeling residue-y. |

Actually I like to use shea butter... yes it has a "butter" consitency but you can mix other oils into it and whip or in your blender to break it down a bit! |

Try mixing rock salt and olive oil and give your hands a good scrub. Rinse it off and mousturize with a good cream. Or try putting on a thick layer of cream and put on some gloves and leave it overnight. |

Coconut oil pretty much eliminates my dry skin issues during minnesota winters. |
